Installing your new bite valve:
  1. Pull the old bite valve off the end of the drink tube.
  2. Push the new bite valve onto the end of the drink tube until it is fully seated.
  3. Check that water flows, and that the switch works if your valve has one.

Pro Tip: If the old valve is hard to remove, warm the end of the drink tube with a hair dryer on a warm setting, or dip it in warm water. Heat makes the tube expand slightly, so the valve pulls off easier. Then install the new valve. Use warm, not boiling, water.

FAQ

Will this bite valve fit my hydration pack?

All Gearhandle bite valves fit standard size drink tubes. That includes CamelBak, Osprey, Platypus, Hydrapak, and Source bladders, and most other standard hydration bladders.

What is the difference between the styles?

Straight valves go straight out from the drink tube. The 45 deg and 90 deg valves are angled. Some valves have an on/off switch, some have a dust cap that keeps the mouthpiece clean, and some have both. Use the comparison chart on this page to see which options each style and color has.

My old bite valve is stuck on the drink tube. How do I remove it?

Warm the end of the drink tube with a hair dryer on a warm setting, or in warm water. The heat expands the tube slightly. Pull the old valve off, then install the new one. Use warm, not boiling, water.

What is the bite valve made of?

Our bite valves are made of silicone and are BPA free.
